Women’s History Month NFT

A movement to educate more people about cryptocurrency and NFT’s.
A movement to feature more women, BIPOC artists, and teams, that collaborate to create socially conscious NFT’s.
A movement to inspire other women and BIPOC artists to create impactful NFT’s.
A movement to bring awareness to the need for an NFT platform focused on women and BIPOC artists and their work.

Project Mission

The That Little Girl Was Me NFT project was created to empower women, especially BIPOC women, through educational, positive, and motivational images and to create a more inclusive NFT marketplace that contributes to real-world change.

About the Artwork

The artwork, originally commissioned in 2020, was designed around a determined image of Kamala Harris, the first female and BIPOC Vice President, alongside Ruby Bridges, the first African American student to integrate an elementary school in the South, while walking to school. The piece was inspired by Norman Rockwell’s The Problem We All Live With and uplifts the trail breaking legacy of BIPOC women and women everywhere who even today are still fighting to break into spaces and institutions around the world that would deny them.
The depiction of women, especially Black women, breaking barriers is especially relevant today as we saw Ketanji Brown Jackson nominated to the Supreme Court of the United States, the first ever Black woman ever.
The artwork was designed by Good Trubble artist Bria Goeller and inspired by Norman Rockwell’s “The Problem We All Live With” and captures the pride of a young black girl going to school and a strong Kamala Harris walking alongside of her.

Vision

The vision of the project is to celebrate empowering imagery, and create a community that comes together around its values to change the world. The values of the project are empowerment, representation, BIPOC achievement and social change. We want to have a global reach that can bring people together across the globe to celebrate women during Women’s History Month.

Project Support

It is important for this project to generate resources that can support real-world efforts to advance and support BIPOC access to power and opportunity. 10% of all proceeds from the sale of our NFT’s will be donated to organizations that share our project’s values and are having real-world impact. We will release a statement after auction close detailing which organizations we have donated to.Our goal is to raise, at minimum, $50K for non-profit organizations.

Why You Should Support Us

An NFT dedicated to Inspirational Women

The NFT space is a new frontier that threatens to replicate the inequities and uneven access to economic opportunity present in the current art market and financial system. We hope that at this early stage in the development of this market the entrance of BIPOC-led led projects like That Little Girl Was Me can help shape what is successful in the space, what ethics and values govern the market, and how we cultivate an inclusive base of artists and collectors. We believe collectors are already gravitating towards NFT projects that give back to social causes, have a story that inspires global citizens, and/or provide tremendous long-term collector value, so That Little Girl Was Me hopes to exemplify these trends and provide a visible example for other NFT projects to emulate.

Our Team

The That Little Girl Was Me team is a compilation of bright minds in the blockchain, marketing, animation, art production, code writing, and defi security spaces. The team is led by C. Gordon Jones, of Good Trubble. A Black creative based in Sacramento, CA.Gordon is joined by a diverse, internationally situated team that is majority BIPOC with women and LGBT+ members in key positions, listed here in alphabetical order.
